Ray Ban Sunglasses
Ray-Ban was founded in 1937 by Bausch Lomb. Originally they were introduced for the United States Army Air Corps. A lieutenant named John MacCready had a balloon flying adventure and when he returned he complained that his eyes were ruined by the sun. He contacted Bausch & Lomb asking them to create a stylish protective piece of sun ware that had ultimate protection. They accepted the challenge and came out with the prototype called Anti-Glare, gold-plated metal with two green lenses made of mineral glass to protect from infrared and ultraviolet rays. Since Pilots were fond of this design it was quickly used by millions making these sunglasses known today as the Ray-Ban Aviator. Ray-Ban has grown immensely since the introduction of the Aviators providing different styles to suit individual needs.
